Star Magazine has an actual gossip story about Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter!! I’m so excited. Usually our favorite British guys don’t get much love from the American tabloids. Like, I would be shocked if Star or In Touch Weekly’s editors ever bothered to make up gossip about Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy or Idris Elba. This week’s Star Magazine piece is all about Sophie and Bendy’s marriage problems, because who would have ever thought getting shotgun married after your casual hookup ended up pregnant would end in disaster?

Looks like the honeymoon phase has ended for Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter, 37. Just seven months after tying the knot, the newlyweds are already experiencing a rough patch – and insiders claim Benedict’s ego may be to blame.

“They bicker all the time,” says a source. “Instead of his success bringing them joy, it’s completely gone to his head.”

Even worse, pals say Benedict is so consumed by work that he’s dropping the ball on being a dad to the couple’s 3-month-old son, Christpher.

“Even when he’s home, it’s really only in body, not mind,” explains the friend. “Sophie just wants him to let up a little so she doesn’t feel like a single parent.”

A lot of armchair body language experts always said that the body language between Sophie and Benedict was pretty strained, especially around the BAFTAs. I think the hurried nature of their relationship – getting pregnant, waging an Oscar campaign, planning a big, expensive wedding and actually going through with it, all within a five-month period – probably did put a strain on their relationship. But for what it’s worth, they’ve seemed more relaxed since baby Christopher came. Sure, Benedict looks deathly tired, but I figured that was new parent stuff. Still… I don’t think anyone is really expecting this to work out long-term, right?
