David Bowie announces new album

Only a few days after his agent, David Giddings, confirming David Bowie won’t be returning to stages anymore, yesterday “The Thin White Duke” announced his new album.

The surprise was released this Monday on Bowie’s official website and Facebook page, the release date is January 8, the same day the singer is turning 69 years old.

The album’s title is “Blackstar”, a single with the same name will be released this November 20, though no more details have been revealed at the moment.

This is good news for everyone, David Bowie is basically a true legend, since his debut in 1967, the british Singer has gathered a large ammount of hits and won a lot of prestige and recognition in the music industry. He’s one of the most iconic figures of glam rock, making also a collaboration with Queen. In his acting carrer we must mention Jareth, the Goblin King, the main role in Jim Henson’s film “Labyrinth”.

This is his first work since “The Next Day” in 2013, álbum that gave him a nomination on the 56th Grammy Awards on the category “best rock álbum”.

Despite we don’t know anything else about this new material, he has also written the main theme for the crime-drama Sky UK TV series “The Last Panthers”, and you can listen to it here:
