A particular diet that can be traced back many years, but was properly labelled in the 1940s, is veganism. While many prominent celebrities call themselves followers of this diet or lifestyle, an interesting celebrity to investigate for this diet is Jack Black.

Many celebrities have also helped to fuel the change. Some may be just for a trend diet, but some have practiced this lifestyle for several decades already.
