His father, Irving Vincent, an acting instructor and theater manager, and his mother, Delora Vincent, an astrologer, raised him as his adoptive African-American father and mother. Diesel‘s twin brother is Paul Vincent.
Tim Vincent is Vin Diesel‘s younger brother, and Samantha Vincent is his younger sister. In the late 1980s, he studied at Hunter College in New York City. Diesel left Hunter College to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles.

Vin Diesel struggled to become well-known after beginning his career in 1990 until he decided to take matters into his own hands. Multi-Facial, a 1995 short he wrote, directed, and starred in, was followed by the 1997 release of Strays, his first feature film.
